What "Know Your Customer" means
Know Your Customer (KYC) is the standard process by which a financial service confirms that a client is a real, identifiable person, and that the information provided at registration is accurate.
In practice, KYC at Prime Suretance involves us gathering and verifying a limited collection of essential information about you: your full legal name, your birth date, your country of residence, your contact information and the payment method you plan to use. We validate the information you entered in the registration form against the information contained in the documents you submit.
What we do not do
We do not ask for your online banking password, your full card PIN, or remote access to your device. No member of our team will ever request those. Any message that does is not from us and should be reported through the abuse form.
What "anti-money laundering" means
Anti-money laundering (AML) comprises the internal safeguards that a financial service implements to ensure its platform cannot be utilized to transfer criminal proceeds, fund unlawful operations, or conceal the source of money.
AML safeguards encompass more than a single identity verification. They include account risk assessment, sanctions and PEP checks, restrictions on atypical payment flows, documentation retention, internal notification of questionable transactions and, where the relevant legislation mandates it, disclosure to the appropriate regulator.
When AML legislation and customer directives are in conflict, AML legislation prevails. This may result in a postponed transaction, a request for supplementary documentation, or a frozen account pending resolution.
Why verification is required
- 01
Legal obligation
Services that hold or transmit client funds are generally required to identify their clients before providing the service. This is not optional and applies to every account without exception.
- 02
Protecting your money
Verification ties an account to one identifiable owner. It makes account takeover far harder, and it means withdrawals can only be sent back to a payment method proven to belong to you.
- 03
Keeping the platform clean
Screening keeps sanctioned parties and anonymous shell activity off the platform, which protects every other client using it.
- 04
Faster payouts later
An account verified up front does not have to stop for checks at withdrawal time, which is when delays are least welcome.
Which documents are accepted
We ask for up to three categories of document. Files should be colour images or PDFs, fully in frame, unedited, with all four corners and all text legible.
1. Identity document
A government-issued document that shows your photograph, full name, date of birth, document number and expiry date. Commonly accepted types are a passport, a national identity card, or a driving licence where it is issued as a photographic identity document. The document must be valid and not expired.
2. Proof of address
A current document, typically issued within recent months, that displays your name and your home address as registered on your account. Common instances include a utility bill, a financial institution or payment card statement, a regional tax or administrative notice, or a formal communication from a government body. P.O. boxes and residences registered to another person are not permitted.
3. Proof of payment method
Documentation verifying that the payment source is yours. For a payment card, this typically means a photo of the card displaying your name, the initial six and terminal four digits and the validity period, with the middle digits and verification code obscured. For a bank account transfer, this means a bank document or acknowledgment in your name indicating the account number. For a digital payment service, a photo of the account settings displaying your name and the account number.
Formats and file size
Upload limits, accepted file types and any additional document requests are shown in the verification area of your account. Documents in a language other than the account language may require a translation; the compliance team will tell you if that applies.
The verification steps
- 01
Register
Establish the account using your actual legal name, birth date, country of residence, email address and mobile number. Discrepancies between your details and your documentation represent the leading cause of processing delays.
- 02
Confirm contact details
Confirm your email address and, where requested, your phone number. This proves the contact channels belong to you.
- 03
Upload your identity document
Upload the pages that carry your photograph and personal data. Some checks include a short liveness or selfie step to confirm the document belongs to the person holding it.
- 04
Upload proof of address
Upload a recent qualifying document in your name at the address on file.
- 05
Confirm the payment method
Supply documentation of the payment source you will use for deposits and for receiving payouts.
- 06
Screening and review
Our compliance team reviews the file, runs the required sanctions and risk screening, and either approves the account or asks for a correction.
- 07
Confirmation
You receive a notification once the account status changes. The current status is always visible in the verification area of your account.
How long a check takes
Most complete submissions are reviewed within a few hours to a couple of business days. Files that need a second look, a translation or an additional document can take longer.
Approval periods are contingent on transaction volume, on the caliber of the submitted files and on whether additional due diligence is initiated. The timeframe assigned to your account, along with the current stage of each submission, is displayed in your account section - that specified duration is what should be used as reference, not any alternative timeframe mentioned elsewhere.
- Clear, complete, unedited uploads are reviewed fastest.
- Applications made after business hours are put in the queue for the following business day.
- Heightened review, if required, extends the timeframe and is notified to you.
Why a check can be rejected
A rejection is usually a document problem, not a judgement about you. In most cases you can simply re-upload and the account is approved on the second attempt.
| Reason | How to fix it |
|---|---|
| Image blurred, cropped or glare-covered | Re-shoot in daylight, flat on a dark surface, all four corners visible. |
| Document expired | Upload a currently valid document. |
| Full name or birth date does not correspond to the account details | Correct the account details, or explain a legal name change with supporting proof. |
| Address documentation is outdated or does not bear your name | Provide a recent qualifying document issued to you at your registered address. |
| Payment method belongs to a third party | Use a payment method registered in your own name - payments from third parties are prohibited. |
| Image that is altered, partially cropped to conceal information, or a digital capture of a display | Submit an unmodified original image or PDF. |
| Residence in an excluded jurisdiction | The account cannot be opened; see our licensing page for the general position. |
If a decision is unclear to you, contact support and ask for the reason. Where the law permits us to explain, we will.
Ongoing transaction monitoring
Verification is an ongoing procedure. Accounts and movements are evaluated throughout the duration of the relationship.
What is monitored
Payment sources and withdrawal habits, transitions between payment methods, transitions between countries or contact information, conduct inconsistent with the details supplied at registration, and any conduct identified by our detection systems.
What can happen as a result
- A request for refreshed documents or an explanation of the source of funds.
- A momentary suspension of a particular transfer during its assessment.
- Adjustment of the limits published in your account.
- Suspension or termination of the account where regulations mandate it.
Records
Identification data and transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable law after the relationship ends, and are handled in line with our Privacy Policy. In certain circumstances the law prevents us from telling a client that a report has been made.
Your obligations
- Supply truthful, up-to-date and thorough information, and maintain its currency.
- Draw exclusively from your own resources and your own payment methods - never use another party's assets.
- Keep one account only, and keep your credentials private.
- Respond to document requests within the timeframe stated in the request.
- Notify us immediately if you relocate, change your legal name or switch your payment method.
- Report any suspected unauthorised access to your account immediately.
Submitting falsified or altered documents is a serious matter. It leads to closure of the account and, where applicable law requires, notification of the competent authority.
Where to ask questions
If anything on this page is ambiguous, or you want to know the precise stage of your own verification, contact us prior to making any new submissions.
Who reviews my documents?
A qualified verification specialist. Documentation is maintained on secured infrastructure, and admission is restricted to personnel who require access for the verification.
Can I start before I am verified?
You can register and explore the account, but funding, trading and withdrawals depend on the verification status published in your account.
Do I have to verify again later?
Possibly. Documents expire, addresses change and periodic refresh is a normal part of AML compliance. We will contact you if a refresh is needed.
How do I contact the compliance team?
Use the contact route on our contact page In your message, reference "KYC" or "verification" along with the email address associated with your account. Refrain from transmitting document images through unsecured means - instead, utilize the account section to upload them.
Get verified once, cleanly
Ninety per cent of delays come from three things: a blurred photo, an out-of-date address document, and a payment method in someone else's name. Fix those and most checks pass first time.
Need help with a document?
Our support team can tell you exactly which file was rejected and why.
- Check the verification area of your account first.
- Afterwards, reach out to support using the email address you have registered.
